Hand-crafted Hand-painted Antique Reproduction and original Folk Art designed game boards.
Bob and Barb design and create wooden game boards in Lancaster Co. Pa. They live in a 1800's farm house shared with their four dogs and work in a studio and workshop located in an old Pa bank barn. Barb earned a BA degree in Fine Arts/Design in 1977. Her painting is greatly influenced by her Pennsylvania German heritage. Barb also credits her mother Marion, a talented folk artist for instilling in her a deep appreciation and love of early americana. Bob grew up with 6 brothers and sisters on a dairy farm in Lancaster Co., Pa. Bob is a retired stone mason and a skilled woodworker. A lifetime of collecting antiques and primatives, Bob appreciates the detail in crafting antique reproduction game boards
Began in 1986, Barb painted a parcheesi game on an old wooden bread board as a birthday gift to her first husband Phil. Not only did she surprise Phil, but unknowingly began a 32 year adventure in the making of folk art and antique reproduction game boards As a child, board games were a large part of country living. Friends and family spending time together playing parcheesi and chinese checkers, provide some of her favorite memories.
Each board is hand-crafted and hand-painted on wood, using milk paints, acrylics or oils. The game is antiqued and varnished to protect the painting and allow the board to be used and passed on to future generations. Antique reproductions represent those that were simple and homemade and others by skilled carriage and sign makers. Folk art designs are Barb's original designs.
We encourage you to step back to a more simpler time playing board games, and wish you and your family many hours of fun and a lifetime of memories.

Each game Board is individually Hand crafted and Hand-painted by Barb and Bob. Due to the variations in wood and paints used each board is a one of a kind, signed and dated.
The wood used to make our Game Boards is of the highest quality. Due to its natural characteristics it should not be exposed to damp areas or hung near dry heat.
Whether it is one, or a wall of Game Boards, Ridge Hollow Game Boards are easy to hang with the ease of a routed keyhole on the back of the board. This also allows for the board to lay flat on a table for ease of playing.
